Scientific Hypothesis and Design course
This course provides students with guidance on scientific writing skills and specifically provides extensive feedback on the development of a dissertation research proposal in the style of an NIH grant application. This is done in collaboration with Ph.D. mentor, current BCDB students, and the course advisors. Most BCDB students use the proposal they have developed in this course as the starting basis for a pre-doctoral fellowship application.
The BCDB faculty developed this course over twenty years ago and has written a paper outlining how other universities can implement such a successful course.
