Targeting Depression With Deep Brain Stimulation

Dr. Robert E. Gross and Dr. Helen S. Mayberg, faculty members in Neuroscience, are featured in an article about treating depression with deep brain stimulation (DBS). DBS involves surgery on a patient's skull, with precise placement of electrodes that will be connected by a thin wire to a battery-powered pulse generator implanted under the collarbone.
