Nemenman Made Fellow of the American Physical Society

Ilya Nemenman, professor of physics and a faculty member in the NS and PBEE programs, has been named a Fellow in the Biological Physics Division of the American Physical Society. To be elected to the society, which works to advance and diffuse the knowledge of physics through research journals, scientific meetings, and education, outreach, advocacy, and international activities, fellows must have made exceptional contributions to the physics enterprise. According to the society, Nemenman was honored as such for "his contributions to theoretical biological physics, especially information processing in a variety of living systems, and for the development of coarse-grained modeling methods of such systems."
