HHMI Names Anayancy Ramos Facio to the 2024 Cohort of Gilliam Fellows

The Graduate Division of Biological and Biomedical Sciences (GDBBS) enthusiastically congratulates Microbiology and Molecular Genetics (MMG) Graduate Program's Anayancy Ramos Facio, who was one of 50 graduate students in the nation named to the 2024 cohort of the Gilliam Fellows Program of the Howard Hughes Medical Institute (HHMI) on Tuesday, July 9.

As a Gilliam Fellow, Anayancy joins a vibrant community and will take part in leadership training, professional development, and opportunities to engage with and learn from peers, program alumni, and HHMI scientists. Her advisor, Dr. Timothy Read, will also join a cohort of peers, participate in HHMI’s intensive, one-year mentorship skills development course, and receive support to promote a healthy and inclusive graduate training environment at Emory University.
