Many MSP labs focus on studying key targets for therapeutics such as cell surface receptors, neurotransmitters, transporters, ion channels, intracellular signaling pathways, and factors regulating phosphorylation and gene expression. This mechanistic research provides insights into the pathogenesis and treatment of diseases such as cancer, epilepsy, atherosclerosis, drug addiction, neurodegenerative disorders, and cystic fibrosis.
