What We Do


DSAC acts as a liaison between the students and administrative staff within the Division, in addition to serving as a liaison between the different programs within the division. DSAC is here to receive petitions and suggestions dealing with matters of concern or interest to the students of the Division from members of the administration, faculty, individual students or student groups.

We also solicit, as necessary, the opinions and concerns of students, faculty and the administration.

Representative:

Representatives serve as the official representative of the students of their respective program to the Division, in addition to serving as an official representative of the students of their respective program to the Director of their respective graduate program. Reps attend and assist with all DSAC sponsored events, chair committees as necessary, and ensure a smooth transition when their membership as a representative is set to end by training the new representative and ensuring the role will be properly fulfilled.

Secretary:

The secretary records and distributes notes from the meetings, tallies votes, records meeting attendance, and assists in drafting communications to the community.

Treasurer:

Prepares the annual budget each Spring to submit to LGS to ensure funding for the following year. Ensures that all bills incurred by DSAC are paid. Coordinates fundraising to support the Annual DSAC Symposium.

Vice President:

In charge of updating the CampusLabs page (including roster), coordinates the work of the subcommittees, assists the president in running meetings and coordinating efforts.

President:

Presides over the monthly meetings of the representatives (coordinates the monthly meeting date/time, writes agenda with input from representatives). In charge of correspondence with outside groups, LGSC, and knowing the policies LGS and the Division in order to properly run DSAC sponsored events.
