Diversity, Equity and Inclusion

Vision

The Molecular and Systems Pharmacology (MSP) program envisions a thriving academic community that celebrates diversity in all its forms and cultivates an environment where every student, faculty member, and staff feels seen, heard, and empowered. We strive to foster a culture of belonging, equity, and respect that values the unique perspectives, backgrounds, and contributions of individuals of all identities, including those historically marginalized in science and medicine. Our program is dedicated to dismantling systemic barriers and uplifting voices that have been underrepresented in pharmacology and biomedical research.

Mission

The Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) committee is dedicated to cultivating an inclusive and equitable learning environment where every member of the MSP program can thrive academically, professionally, and personally. We are committed to promoting respect, understanding, and open dialogue among all students and faculty, ensuring that individuals from diverse and historically underrepresented backgrounds feel supported and valued. The committee will prioritize ongoing monitoring of student concerns and feedback to address challenges, identify opportunities for growth, and continuously refine our approach to fostering a culture of belonging and equity. By upholding these principles, we aim to ensure that inclusivity and respect remain central to our program’s success in advancing pharmacology and biomedical science.
